Megan Fedock is accused of abusing her boyfriend's 72-year-old mother.

KEY WEST, Fla. – A Florida Keys caregiver was arrested Saturday, accused of abusing her boyfriend's 72-year-old mother, Monroe County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Becky Herrin said Monday.

Megan Fedock, 21, of Key West, faces charges of elderly abuse and battery on a person 65 or older.

Herrin said Fedock's boyfriend called deputies to conduct a welfare check on his mother. He said Fedock, who had been acting as caregiver for his mother, came to his work Friday and told him that his mother was now "sleeping on the floor like a dog and got what she deserves."

When deputies arrived at the Sugarloaf Key home, they found the woman crying and shaking. Herrin said Fedock had removed all the furniture from the living room and blocked off access to the rest of the house.

Herrin said Fedock made the victim sleep on a blow-up mattress on the living room floor.

The woman told deputies that Fedock grabbed her by the hair and shook her. Herrin said the woman had chunks of hair missing from her head, and the hair was strewn about the room and on the air mattress.
