Drunk driver wanted for woman's death in Davie, detectives say

Edgar Reyes is accused of causing the death of a mother of two

DAVIE, Fla. – Edgar Reyes was driving drunk when he lost control of the car and his girlfriend was ejected from the car during the rollover crash, according to the Davie Police Department.

Traffic homicide detectives were asking for the public's help with finding Reyes, who vanished after making arrangements to turn himself in to authorities for a DUI manslaughter charge.

Martha Hernandez Rondon, who is a mother of two, "was ejected from the vehicle and killed," Sgt. Mark Leone said in a statement. 

The fatal crash happened about 3:40 a.m., April 8, outside of the Palm Truck Centers at 2441 S. State Rd. 7. Reyes drove off State Road 7 in the area of Interstate 595.

Leone said Reyes does not have a valid driver’s license. Detectives were asking anyone with information to call the Davie Police Department at 954-693-8200 or Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
