Family begs for someone to come forward with information about fatal shooting

Antquinisha 'Nisha' Flowers, 18, gunned down in Liberty City

MIAMI ā€“ A South Florida family is begging for someone to come forward with information after their 18-year-old daughter was gunned down in Miami.

"They just need to turn themselves in, because this is killing me, day by day," the victim's mother, Michelle Flowers, said.

Antquinisha "Nisha" Flowers was killed last Thursday, and her 17-year-old cousin was injured in the Liberty City shooting.

"The same place my mama passed, as an innocent bystander shot. That's the same place my daughter died at. That's heartbreaking," Michelle Flowers said.

Police said Nisha and her cousin were hanging out at the corner of Northwest 67th Street and 12th Avenue about 9 p.m. Thursday, when a car drove by and someone inside opened fire.

Both of them were hit and Nisha died on the way to Jackson Memorial Hospital.

"I just miss my baby. I can't talk to her no more," Flowers said.

Flowers was joined Wednesday by Nisha's aunt, Shaquita, and the city of Miami Police Department to beg their community to come forward with answers.

"We know people are talking. We need you to come forward. If you cared about her in life, call us now," Detective Anthony Reyes said.

"Tell us what they know so she can rest, and I can rest, and my kids can rest," Flowers said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
