Family demands apology after garden decoration stolen from home

Water fountain taken by thief who may be a neighbor, resident says

SWEETWATER, Fla. – Adria Hernandez said her 5-year-old garden decoration has mysteriously disappeared.

And it wasn't until she and her husband reviewed surveillance camera footage that the case was blown wide open.

"Suddenly I hear ,wow! So I go into the room and it is like look at this huge lady and with this flashy blue dress and she literally walked in, grabbed it, threw the water away and just walked away with it," Hernandez said.

Hernandez said if she wasn't so angry it would be funny. "How dare you come to my house and steal something so insignificant," she said. "You know it is a water fountain. I mean go buy yourself one. It is not that expensive."

After Hernandez's daughter posted the theft on social media it turns out there may be a serial lawn tchotchke bandit at work.

"Apparently she did it at someone's house where she stole some umbrellas and some gardening things somewhere else. She has been around," Hernandez said.

The empty spot where that water fountain sat and the outlet where it was plugged in is still visible. The Hernandez family thinks that the thief may actually live in the neighborhood.

That is because after she takes them water fountain she then walks off in this direction. You don't ever see a car pull up. You don't ever see a car pull away.

Hernandez said she is upset but just wants her water fountain back along with an apology.

"You know what it is not charges that I want. Again it is just a water fountain. It is just what she did. I feel violated," she said.
