Family pleads for help in finding woman's killer

Christina Kur killed in Nov. 13, 2016, shooting

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. ā€“ A South Florida family pleaded for help Thursday in finding the person who fatally shot a woman last year while she was sitting in a car.

Miami-Dade police said ChristinaĀ KurĀ was shot about 3 p.m. Nov. 13, 2016, while sitting in a car in a parking lot at 941 NEĀ 170thĀ St.

"Every single day, I'm living a nightmare. Christina was my only one child,"Ā Kur'sĀ mother, AnastasiaĀ Arfi, said.

Police said the 25-year-old mother of a 2-year-old girl was sitting and talking in a car with a 19-year old friend at his north Miami-Dade apartment complex when she was shot.

Her friend told police that an SUV pulled up and someone opened fire.

KurĀ died three days later.

No arrests have been made, and a motive for the shooting remains unknown.

"They are unaware of the actual motive for that shooting (and) whether or not they just went to this apartment complex and began shooting, and maybe intending to target someone else, or maybe an apartment," Miami-Dade police spokeswomanĀ  Jennifer Capote said.

A background check showed thatĀ KurĀ was arrested on a prostitution charge a month before her murder.

She was scheduled to be in court for a hearing four days before the shooting, but the hearing was rescheduled. Ā

She would not live to make the court appearance.

"If anyone has any information about this case, please help us," Arfi said. "Help us to bring justice for my daughter, Christina. That's all we can do is just pray and bring justice for my daughter, Christina."

Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.Ā
