Cousin of man shot confirms victim's identity

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A man was killed in a drive-by shooting Sunday afternoon in northwest Miami-Dade County, police said.

The shooting happened in the Brownsville neighborhood near Northwest 23rd Avenue and Northwest 56th Street, Miami-Dade police Detective Robin Pinkard said.

Pinkard said the 36-year-old man was standing in front of a home speaking to two acquaintances when he was shot.

Police have not released the man's identity, but a man claiming to be the victim's cousin identified him as Robert Henton.

Robert Henton was killed Sunday in a drive-by shooting.

"You never know where death is," cousin Harrell Henton said.

The victim's cousin had a message for the shooter.

"Whoever did this, it's not going to work out for you," Harrell Henton said. "You've got to come forward. It's not the way to solve problems."

A motive for the shooting wasn't revealed.
