Homestead man, woman accused of installing credit card skimmer at gas station

Suspects caught in act Tuesday at Chevron gas station, police say

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A man and a woman from Homestead were arrested Tuesday for installing a credit card skimmer at a Chevron gas station.

Police said Yamisleidys Llano-Perez, 33, and Jorge Noa-Carreno, 38, were caught either installing or removing a credit card skimming device from an open fuel pump at the Chevron at 13710 SW 152nd St.

Police said the duo was found in possession of one skimming device.

Llano-Perez was also found with four counterfeit credit cards and Noa-Carreno was found with six counterfeit credit cards, an arrest report said.

Police said a tool used to open fuel pumps and a latex glove were also found inside the suspects' car.

Detectives later obtained a search warrant at a home, where the couple lives together.

The search of the home turned up additional fraud items, including a 2006 Ford F-250 pickup truck that belongs to Noa-Carreno, the report said.

Police said the truck was retrofitted with a concealed illegal fuel bladder/tank with a capacity of several hundred gallons of fuel. It also "contained all the necessary hoses, pumps, digital meters and fuel nozzles utilized to be able to steal and subsequently sell fuel," the report said.

The suspects were arrested on charges of unlawful use of a scanning device, possession of counterfeit credit cards, forgery of a credit card with the intent to defraud, possession of a vehicle with an illegal tank/container and organized scheme to defraud.
