Jury selection underway for 3 men accused of killing BSO deputy

Deputy Brian Tephord shot multiple times during traffic stop in November 2006

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Nearly a decade after Broward sheriff's Deputy Brian Tephord was killed on the job, his accused killers are about to stand trial together.

Detectives said Eloyn Ingraham fired the fatal shots in November 2006.

Ingraham was in a car that was pulled over in Tamarac because of a license plate that didn't match the vehicle.

Court records show that Ingraham allegedly got out of the vehicle and fired 19 shots from a handgun.

Tephord was killed as he sat in his marked patrol car.

Another BSO deputy, Corey Carbocci, was also shot multiple times, but survived.

Authorities said the gunman ran to a nearby apartment complex, where he told two other men, Andre Delancey and Bernard Forbes, about the double deputy shooting and advised them to leave together.

The trio was captured on surveillance cameras running through a nearby shopping center.

The three men, who had been accused of pulling off a prior armed robbery, were eventually caught and arrested at a hotel in Dania Beach.

With jury selection now in motion, all eyes in South Florida are expected to be on the case that was 10 years in the making, with three suspects tried at once.

Broward State Attorney Mike Satz is expected to present the evidence in the case.

The suspects were acquitted last year in the armed robbery.

All three face first-degree murder charges in a trial that is expected to last as long as two months.
