HOMESTEAD, Fla. – Karma is coming for a group of robbers who disturbed the balance at Buddhist temple in Homestead.
Miami-Dade and Homestead police officers were searching for a man and two women who didn't show up to the spiritual refuge in search of Nirvana.
The officers believe the trio committed crimes inside the Wat Buddharangsi Buddhist Temple at 1500 SW 240 St., while pretending to be practicing Buddhists.
Buddhists leave donations as a symbolic offering to show an attitude of gratitude in preparation for meditation. Surveillance video shows the thieves took money and food from the altar twice this month.
Traditionally the offerings are meant to end up in the hands of the Buddhist monks who take care of the temple. Police officers say the three thieves took the offerings twice this month and fled in a gold Toyota Camry.
Authorities were asking anyone with information about the thieves to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
