Knife-wielding, masked man robs bank in Doral, FBI says

Man believed to be involved in at least 5 other bank robberies

DORAL, Fla. – A knife-wielding man who had his face covered by a cloth or shirt robbed a bank Monday afternoon in Doral, the FBI said.

The robbery was reported about noon at an Eastern National Bank branch at 7800 NW 25th St.

FBI Special Agent Michael Leverock said the robber pulled out a knife and demanded money from an employee.

An undisclosed amount of cash was taken.

No injuries were reported.

Investigators believe the robber is the same person who robbed at least five other banks:

  • Aug. 14, Sun Trust Bank, Miami
  • Aug. 21, City National Bank, Miami
  • Aug. 25, Chase Bank, Miami
  • Aug. 29, PNC Bank, Miramar
  • Sept. 7, Banco Community Bank, Hialeah

Anyone with information about the robber's identity is asked to call the FBI at 754-703-2000 or Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
