According to an incident report, a woman left her purse in the kitchen the night before and put her children to bed before going to sleep.

When the woman woke up the next morning, she discovered her purse was missing and the living room table was moved.

Police said the woman's husband saw that the sliding door on the balcony had been pried open and they called police.

Detectives said the thief broke into the downstairs' neighbor's backyard, climbed onto the aluminum patio roof and climbed onto the victim's balcony.

They said the thief used a tool to pry open the balcony door and break into the home.

Authorities said the burglar left with the victim's purse, which contained $40 in cash and the victim's driver's license and credit cards.

Surveillance video captured the suspected burglar using one of the stolen credit cards at a Chevron gas station in Miami.

He was driving a newer-model silver Chevrolet Camaro with a black driver's side fender and hood.

Anyone with information about the thief's identity is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
