Man captured on camera breaking into Coral Springs home

Incident reported shortly before 3 p.m. July 8

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – Coral Springs police are searching for a man who they said was captured on surveillance video earlier this month breaking into a home.

The incident was reported at about 2:50 p.m. July 8 in the 9700 block of Northwest 45th Street.

According to an incident report, authorities responded to the home after the home alarm was triggered.

They found that the kitchen window in the back of the house had been smashed out and the front door was open.

The homeowner told authorities that he had left the front door locked when he left the home. He said nothing appeared to be missing from his home.

Detectives said the burglar moved one of the cameras so that it would not face the kitchen window.

They said he used duct tape to keep the window mostly together so that it would not set off the glass-break alarm.

Authorities believe the man left the home after triggering the interior motion alarm.
