Man pulls out Taser while carjacking woman in Hialeah, police say

Police: Juvenile arrested after fleeing from police in stolen vehicle

HIALEAH, Fla. – Hialeah police are searching for two men who carjacked a woman earlier this month.

The carjacking was reported at 10:50 p.m. July 13 outside a Home Depot at 950 SE 12th St.

Police said the victim was leaving work when the men approached her as she was getting into her black 2016 Toyota Camry.

Police said one of the men activated a Taser to scare the victim as he lifted up his shirt to show her that he had a gun in his waistband.

The woman was not injured by the Taser, authorities said.

Police said the armed thief snatched the Home Depot employee's car keys and cellphone and ordered her out of her car.

Both men then got into the car and drove away, police said.

Surveillance video shows the thief who was unarmed entering the Home Depot before the carjacking.

The stolen vehicle was spotted on July 16 by a Miami-Dade police sergeant.

Police said the driver fled, but crashed the car in the area of Northwest 23rd Court and 48th Street.

A juvenile was arrested, but two others were able to escape from police.

Authorities said the juvenile was not involved in the initial carjacking.

Anyone with information is asked to call Hialeah police at 305-687-2525 or Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
