Man pushes woman to ground during attempted robbery, Miami-Dade police say

Victim snatches purse back from man during struggle

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A store clerk was knocked to the ground last week during an attempted robbery at the business where she works, authorities said.

The incident was reported just before 10:30 a.m. June 22 at a business at 6886 NW 169th St.

Miami-Dade police said a man wearing a white hat, blue shirt and black cargo pants, entered the store and wandered around aimlessly. 

He then reached over the counter and grabbed the victim's purse while she was attending to customers, police said.

A struggle ensued and the victim was pushed to the floor, causing her to strike the back of her head.

Police said the woman was able to grab her purse back from the man, despite his repeated attempts to take it.

Police said the man eventually ran out of the store and damaged the front door.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue treated the victim's injuries at the scene.
