According to an arrest affidavit, the burglaries were reported between Sept. 27 and Oct. 25.

Authorities said the men would identify themselves to the victims as Florida Power & Light employees or utility workers and claim that the victims had a water leak inside their homes that the men needed to check.

Detectives said the victims, trusting the thieves, would allow them into their homes, where one of the suspects would distract the victims in their kitchen areas while the other stole items from other areas of the homes.

A gold chain and cash from a master bedroom was stolen during the last burglary on Oct. 25, the affidavit stated.

Detectives said the victims identified the men in a photo lineup.

Tan and Kuhn face multiple charges including burglary, larceny against someone 65 or older, fraud to obtain property under $20,000 and grand theft.
