Nadia Pierre-Louis accused of leaving scene of crash that killed Jay Edelstein

COCONUT CREEK, Fla. – A North Lauderdale woman has been arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash in Coconut Creek.

Nadia Pierre-Louis was arrested Tuesday on a charge of failure to remain at a crash involving a death.

Coconut Creek police said Pierre-Louis was driving a gray Toyota Corolla that struck Jay Edelstein from behind as he was walking through the driveway access at Seminole Casino Coconut Creek, 5550 NW 40th Ave., on Dec. 29.

The 57-year-old man was later pronounced dead at Broward Health North.

Police found the car later that night outside a home in North Lauderdale.

Pierre-Louis faced a Broward County judge Thursday morning. She was ordered to surrender his passport and green card. If she is released on a $250,000 bond, Pierre-Louis must remain on house arrest.
