Passenger shot during Miami Gardens road-rage incident

Driver of van pulls gun on driver, passenger after argument

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Miami Gardens police are searching for the person who shot a 34-year-old man July 14 during a road-rage incident.

The incident took place when a black 2002 Dodge Ram got into a minor crash with a gray 1990s model Chevrolet Astro van in a shopping plaza parking lot in the 19000 block of Northwest 27th Avenue, police said.

After the  crash, which resulted in no damage to either vehicle, the driver of the van followed the truck to the intersection of Northwest 32nd Avenue and Northwest 199th Street and began arguing with the driver of the truck, police said.

 The driver of the van then fired a single gunshot into the victim’s truck and struck a 34-year-old man, police said. The driver then left in an unknown direction.

The shooter is described as being in his early to mid-40s, heavy build and was last seen wearing a blue shirt.
