Leverock said Di Capua is responsible for four Palm Beach County bank robberies within a span of four days, including three that were reported fewer than 10 minutes apart Monday in Lake Worth.

The first of the four robberies was Friday night at a SunTrust branch in Boynton Beach.

Leverock said the robber left each bank in a white 2015 GMC Sierra extended-cab pickup truck.

According to a Boynton Beach police report, officers received a tip that the suspect in the robberies was traveling to the Seabourn Cove community to pick up someone. Police spotted the truck traveling south on Federal Highway and initiated a traffic stop, but the driver sped up in an attempt to get away.

The driver, identified as Di Capua, eventually lost control of the truck, which spun out, and he ran into the Seabourn Cove community, where he was apprehended, the report said. Police said a small pouch containing money was found on the ground near where he was arrested.

Di Capua punched and kicked officers as they were taking him into custody, so police used a Taser gun to subdue him, the report said.

A search of the truck revealed that it had been stolen Friday in Lantana, the report said.

Di Capua faces federal bank robbery charges, as well as several state charges, including grand theft auto, resisting arrest with violence and fleeing and eluding. He is expected to appear Wednesday in federal court in West Palm Beach.
