POMPANO BEACH, Fla. - No, the computer store wasn't offering a "buy none, get two free" deal.

The Broward County Sheriff's Office released a surveillance video on Wednesday in hopes of identifying a shoplifting suspect.

The video shows a man browsing at a Pompano Beach computer store when he suddenly grabs a HP Pavilion laptop and runs for the door. As the cashier chases after him, the thief grabs a second computer, an IBM ThinkPad. The BSO valued the stolen goods at $840.

The robbery took place around 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 8 at In2Computers, 1070 W. Sample Road, deputies said.

Deputies described the suspect as a bald, heavyset man in his late 30s to early 40s. On the day of the theft, he was clean-shaven. He fled the scene in a white hatchback, BSO officials said.

Anyone with information about his identity is asked to call Detective James Pedre at 954-786-4201 or Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
