WILTON MANORS, Fla. - A man was arrested Wednesday evening, accused of inappropriately touching a teenager in a Wilton Manors neighborhood.

Wilton Manors police said the 18-year-old woman was walking home near Northwest Ninth Avenue and Powerline Road about 8 p.m. when a man came out of nowhere and began talking to her.

Police said the man, whom they identified as Charles Milton, 26, offered the woman money for sex. The woman refused, and when she tried to walk away, Milton came up behind her and started fondling her beneath her skirt, police said.

When the woman resisted, the man started grabbing her again, and when she tried to walk away, he told her he had a weapon, Wilton Manors police said.

The woman escaped and went home, where she called police.

Officers said they found Milton in a parking lot a few blocks away, but he ran away through several back yards.

The officers set up a perimeter and brought in the Fort Lauderdale Police Department's K-9 unit to search for Milton.

He was taken into custody in a nearby back yard, police said.

Wilton Manors police said Milton was already on probation and was a registered sexual predator. Police said he confessed to Wednesday's incident.
