Suspect arrested in fatal shooting of man at Miami Shores Motel

Police say Thomas Jefferson shot, killed victim in room after argument

Thomas Jefferson is accused of fatally shooting another man inside a room at the Miami Shores Motel.

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – A man has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of another man inside a room at the Miami Shores Motel.

Thomas Jefferson, 42, was arrested Thursday on multiple charges, including second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

According to an arrest warrant, Jefferson shot and killed David Parker Jr. after getting into an argument with him at the motel.

Witnesses told police that Jefferson, who was living in room 55, followed Parker to room 32 and shot him.

Police said two witnesses later identified Jefferson from a photograph.

Jefferson was being held without bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
