Thieves caught on camera breaking into vehicles in Davie

Handgun, Beats headphones among items stolen

DAVIE, Fla. – Davie police are searching for the thieves who were captured on surveillance video breaking into vehicles and stealing expensive items.

The first vehicle burglary was reported Jan. 18 in the Ivanhoe area of west Davie.

Two people were seen on video opening unlocked car doors.

"It's an easy invitation for these criminals when you leave your car unlocked," Sgt. Mark Leone said.

Police said a Glock handgun was taken from one of the vehicles that had been left unlocked.

"The last thing we want is another gun out on the street," Leone said.
