Third suspect sought in death of man found in burning car at Bicentennial Park

Jeffrey Harrell wanted, believed to be in Miami area

NORTH LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A third suspect is being sought in connection with the death of a man who was found inside a burning car at a North Lauderdale park.

Broward Sheriff's Office homicide detectives said Tuesday that Jeffrey Harrell, 27, is wanted in the killing of Darren Butler.

The victim, who was also 27, was found dead Nov. 14 after firefighters extinguished the flames from a car on fire at Bicentennial Park. Detectives said Butler's body was in the trunk of his Pontiac G6.

Broward Sheriff's Office deputies were called to a vehicle fire at Bicentennial Park in North Lauderdale about 5 a.m. Tuesday.

Two others, Johntavis McCoe, 26, and Rougiena Derviere, 18, were arrested earlier this month.

Detectives believe Harrell is in the Miami area.
