MIAMI BEACH, Fla. - Three carjacking suspects were taken into custody Tuesday evening in Miami Beach, police said.

People in Miami Beach were told by police Tuesday evening to avoid the Venetian Causeway near DiLido Island as officers searched for three men sought in the armed carjacking, police said.

The carjacking took place about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday near the 300 block of 71st Street.

A silver Volkswagen Jetta was stolen, but no one was hurt, Miami Beach police Officer Ernesto Rodriguez said.

Police spotted the stolen car on the Venetian Causeway about four hours later. The men inside bailed out near DiLido Island.

A gun was found inside the stolen car.

Two of the men were found hiding between houses, police said, and the other was found in a construction site.
