WASHINGTON - The U.S. Department of State has issued a warning to citizens planning to travel to Cuba while the country recovers from Hurricane Irma.
The warning says North central Cuba should be avoided until further notice.
While power and water have been restored to most of the capital city of Havana, the majority of the country is still without power and running water.
The State Department is urging those who travel to Cuba to apprise family and friends in the United States of their whereabouts and to keep in close contact with hotel staff and officials.
