Davie police capture 11-foot python that slithered into car's engine compartment

Man first spots python under his vehicle, police say

DAVIE, Fla. – Davie police captured an 11-foot reticulated python earlier this month that was found under a man's car, authorities said.

The man spotted the snake Feb. 1 outside his home off Nova Drive and University Drive.

Police said the snake slithered into the engine compartment of the vehicle just before officers arrived at the home.

It took three officers to remove the reticulated python from the vehicle.

Police said the snake was turned over to a licensed amnesty center called Strictly Reptiles.
