POMPANO BEACH, Fla. - Authorities have arrested a South Florida man they say shot a 26-year-old after a family dispute.

Broward County Sheriff's deputies said 19-year-old Scott Chery shot Trentny Leak during an argument at a Pompano Beach home on Saturday. Minutes later, Chery allegedly jumped on the Tri-Rail in Broward and headed north. Authorities released his photo to the public and tracked him down at a friend's house.

He was arrested Sunday and faces an attempted murder charge. Deputies say Leak remains hospitalized in serious condition.

Deputies said Chery was out of jail on bond at the time of the shooting. Chery had been released on bond for a home invasion robbery in August in Riviera Beach.
