Roaches spotted crawling on chicken and rice containers in South Florida restaurants

MIAMI – It was a busy week for Inspectors with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

A State Inspector noted a live roach on raw chicken at Nauti Dawg Cafe in Lighthouse Point last week. Twenty-Six violations were found and the kitchen there was ordered shut.

Records show a stop sale was also issued on rice at Fried Rice Kitchen in Pompano Beach after a roach was spotted inside a rice container in a food prep area.

Rodent issues were found at a Burger King in Coral Springs, at Blue Willy's BBQ on Commercial Boulevard and at Back Alley BBQ in Fort Lauderdale.

Roach issues were found at Bice Bistro on Grand Avenue in Coconut Grove and Wing's N Things in Pompano Beach.

Notre Dame restaurant in Pompano Beach was ordered shut for the 4th time after bugs were discovered on boiled eggs. 

Below is a list of places and some of their violations.

All the placed mentioned were allowed to re-open following an ordered clean up and re-inspection.

Deliveries being put away , doors left open for long period of time. Doors continuously being opened and closed. Operator to leave doors closed until unit can adjust temperature to 41° F or below and foods can cool properly."
