JUPITER, Fla. – A dog that was rescued after traveling 5 miles while trapped under the hood of a car is now receiving treatment in Palm Beach County.
The three-month-old puppy named "Independence" is now getting treatment in Jupiter, Fla. thanks to "Save a Pet Florida."

Independence suffered severe burns to her belly and will get laser therapy everyday for the next two months to help her skin grow back.
The pup was found stuck under the hood of a car in what was a 20-minute drive to Dania Beach on July Fourth.
There were several calls made from all over the U.S. to help get Independence adopted, but officials said she's not ready for a new home just yet.
