WPLG Editorial: State should crack down on cheating drivers (4/7/12)

Headline Goes Here

MIAMI - This week, Local 10 discovered vendors outside Florida driver's license offices selling the answers to the driving exam to people arriving to take it, and state officials told us those vendors are breaking no rules. No wonder South Florida roads are so dangerous.

Memorizing the answers to a test falls far short of learning the material in the 62-page driver's manual. Anyone who takes a test with a cheat sheet can't know the rules of the road, and why the state has no rules against that is baffling.

At least one lawmaker was outraged at our findings. You should be, too.

The state has to do a better job of making our roads safe, starting with drivers who have been licensed without cheating.

That's our take on things. Let us know what you think.
