MIAMI – If you were banging your head on a keyboard because your Facebook or Instagram was down, you weren't alone, especially in South Florida.
The social media giants were faced with worldwide outages beginning late Wednesday morning.

Facebook users began receiving error messages at approximately 11:10 a.m. and it took over two hours for the company to resolve the issue.
Not all accounts on either Facebook and Instagram were affected, but major areas around the globe, including Miami and Fort Lauderdale, reported problems.
