MIAMI - Miami-Dade police are searching for three men who claimed to be police officers, held residents at gunpoint and ransacked their house Friday morning.

A 40-year-old man woke up just before 2:30 a.m. Friday when three men came into his home at 30992 SW 195th Ave. Police said the robbers entered through a sliding-glass door.

The robbers held the man at gunpoint and forced him to walk through the house, waking a 23-year-old woman and a 54-year-old man who also live there, police said.

The gunmen said they were police and then ransacked the house, demanding property, police said. They grabbed some jewelry and electronics and then escaped, police said.

Two girls, ages 9 and 6, slept through the robbery.

The robbers were described as two men in their 30s, both of whom had guns, and one in his 40s, who carried bolt cutters. One was about 5 feet 8 inches and 195 pounds and had a tattoo on his right arm above the elbow. A second man in his 30s was 5 feet 9 inches tall and 175 pounds and wore a shirt and cap that said "Police." The third man, who is in his 40s, was about 5 feet 4 inches tall and 145 pounds.
