Family remains hopeful that North Miami woman will be found

Noemi Gonzalez reported missing in February 2014

NORTH MIAMI, Fla. – The family of a North Miami woman who was reported missing nearly two years ago are keeping faith that she will be found.

"She used to decorate the table in all types of Christmas (decorations)," Noemi Gonzalez’s sister, Maria Castillo, said.

Gonzalez, then 54, was last seen going to bed Feb. 11, 2014, at her North Miami home in the 400 block of NE 136 St.

Her son told detectives that he woke up the next morning to find her gone, her purse and cellphone in the house, and the front door of the home unlocked.

"I was concerned because she usually called me if she was going to go out," Castillo said.

Police said there was no sign of a break in and no evidence of foul play, although they are convinced that there is foul play involved.

The family has been passing out flyers created by the North Miami Police Department in hopes that someone knows what happened to her.

"It's so hard to see that my sister has been missing for two years and no one has come forward," Castillo said.

Gonzalez's family members said she suffers from epileptic seizures and requires medication daily.

Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers is offering a $10,000 reward for any information about the disappearance. Anyone with information is asked to call 305-471-TIPS.
