MIAMI - The man who injured three people when he shot into the crowd at a youth football game in Overtown was arrested Thursday, police said.
Jamar Jordan, 20, has been charged with three counts of attempted murder and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
According to investigators, Jordan fired into the crowd at the game at Gibson Park on Sept. 7 after he was involved in an argument.
Three victims were hit by the shots as a large crowd of game attendees ran for cover, investigators said. The victims suffered non-life threatening injuries.
A witness told police that she bear-hugged Jordan and pleaded with him to stop shooting.
"I told him, 'Please, please, don't shoot no more. My baby [is] in the stroller. Please stop shooting over my baby.' And he looked at me and someone else grabbed him, told him he was tripping. They started arguing and he ran away," said Noonie Jenkins, a mother of four.
