Fishing hat robber strikes again

Duo robs Bennett Auto Supply in Pompano Beach

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. - An armed robber wearing a fishing hat struck again at a Pompano Beach auto parts store.

The robbery happened at Bennett Auto Supply on N. Dixie Highway about 4:30 p.m. on August 29.

In the surveillance video, the robber handed the clerk cash to pay for an item, said Broward Sheriff's Office deputies. When she opened the cash drawer, he pulled out a handgun and pointed it at her. The man had an accomplice who was also armed.

The man wearing a fishing hat also robbed an AutoZone in Oakland Park in similar fashion.

A witness saw the two leave the store in a new model, silver Nissan minivan, which drove south on Northeast 3rd Avenue.
