Pipe PA 28 Cherokee Aircraft crashes into empty daycare

FORT MYERS, Fla. - A small plane crashed into an unoccupied daycare on Saturday morning near Page Field Airport in Fort Myers. One person died and another was injured. 

The pilot crashed the Pipe PA 28 Cherokee Aircraft during takeoff, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

Lee County Fire Rescue responded to Metro Parkway and Daley Drive and took the survivor to a nearby hospital. 

The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate and determine the cause of the crash.
