BSO: Driver suffered medical emergency, lost control of truck

DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. – Two men suffered non life-threatening injuries when a truck crashed into Discount Concrete Cutting on Thursday afternoon, according to the Broward Sheriff's Fire Rescue.

The crash happened at 37 NE First Terrace about 12:44 p.m.

"That's the first thing I said is thank God we are okay once I realized," said Bertha Pratt, who works inside the building. "It's a frightening situation."

The 67-year-old driver from Pompano Beach suffered a medical emergency, which caused him to lose control of his truck and crash into the building, said fire rescue officials.

He and a 46-year-old man were transported to Broward Health North.

"He (46-year-old man) was shaken up, too. The truck knocked him to the side," said Shelby Pratt, Bertha's grandson.
