Brother of escaped inmate's victim faces charges

ORLANDO, Fla. - The brother of an escaped inmate's murder victim is under arrest for making threats to the inmate's family.

Orlando Police officials say Willie Slater Jr. was arrested Monday on an outstanding warrant and booked into the Orange County Jail.

He is the brother of Cedric Slater, who was murdered 15 years ago by Charles Walker.

Walker and Joseph Jenkins were captured earlier this month at a Panama City motel. Authorities say they used forged court orders to get themselves released from the Franklin Correctional Institution in the Panhandle. The forged orders cut their prison sentences from life to 15 years.

Police officials say Slater began making credible threats to Walker's relatives after Walker was mistakenly released.

Slater faces aggravated stalking and threats to kill charges.
