Assisted living facility worker accused of stealing residents' IDs

Police say Tamarac woman collected personal information without permission

SUNRISE – An employee at an assisted living facility in Sunrise was arrested Monday on charges that she stole personal information from more than a dozen residents.

Police said Taylor Rivera, 24, of Tamarac surreptitiously collected identification cards, Social Security numbers and other personal information from 17 residents of Westchester of Sunrise in the 9700 block of Oakland Park Boulevard.

Police said Rivera shared the stolen information with a man in Jacksonville via Facebook Messenger. Police said Rivera intended to commit fraud with the stolen information.

She is currently being held in the Broward County Main Jail on $1,000 bond.

Joe Austin, a spokesman for Westchester of Sunrise, said Rivera is longer no employed at facility, but declined to comment further.
