COOPER CITY, Fla. – Broward County sheriff's deputies are investigating Sunday after Cooper City residents found hateful flyers in their neighborhood.
Altered photos of two neighborhood children are shown on the flyer along with Nazi imagery, racial slurs and crude language.
In the flyer, swastikas were placed on the foreheads of the children. The flyers appear to target the children's parents, who serve on the board of the neighborhood association. The flyers call them "snitches" and "rats."
The parents filed a formal complaint with the sheriff's office.
Residents of Cascada Isles at Monterra said the flyers were found inside the gated community near where people collect their mail.
Carlos Bethencourt, who lives in the community, called the flyers "horrible."
“If you have something to say to somebody, just go knock on their doors," Bethencourt said. "Settle your differences just like human beings."
