PLANTATION, Fla. - Crooks stole a Plantation family's Christmas presents, but a Local 10 viewer made sure they didn't take the spirit of the season.

On Saturday, Christina Vazquez reported a single mom's story about crooks breaking into her apartment and stealing Christmas presents she bought for her children.

Shina Jean Baptiste said her 3-year-old son Clifford and 7-year-old daughter A'Marie share a room in the family's apartment. Baptise said she also discovered burglars had urinated on the family's clothing and even on their beds.

Once the story aired, viewers asked Local 10 how they could donate gifts and other goods to the family.

On Sunday, Annabelle Mayta delivered presents to the family Sunday. Local 10 was there to capture Mayta's generous gift.

The single mother told Mayta how much her Christmas spirit means to her family.

"Thank you for bringing some normalcy," said Baptiste. "I really appreciate it. I'm so speechless right now. I want to cry."

Mayta said she first had the idea to help when she was watching Local 10 Saturday night. The woman said she cried when she saw the story, and decided to reach out.

"I thought, ‘Hey, these are hard times and whatever you can give to somebody who is less fortunate, if you have, give,'" Mayta said. "It really touched me."

Police are still investigating the burglary. No suspects have been named.
