BSO: Thieves steal 300 gallons of fuel from gas station

Deputies searching for at least 3 men

DANIA BEACH, Fla. – Deputies are searching for at least three men who siphoned more than 300 gallons of diesel fuel from a Dania Beach Chevron station.

The surveillance video from the incident on April 25 was released Wednesday.

Around 1:30 a.m. the video shows a white van, a white minivan and a black pickup truck drive into the station together. The vans parked facing each other, with the minivan parking directly over the covers to the underground diesel tank.

Deputies say the pickup parked at the gas pump next to the white van, so both vehicles could block the clerk's vision of the minivan from the store.

Detectives believe the minivan had a removable floorboard that gave the thieves concealed access to the fuel tank cover below.

More than $1,141 of diesel fuel was stolen. The theft was discovered later that morning when inventory of the tank was taken.

If you have any information about the theft, call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
