MIAMI - Customs agents have been very busy at Miami International Airport.

In the last four months, U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents say they have intercepted about 181,000 counterfeit prescription pills worth about $3.2 million.

The fake drugs were found in two cargo shipments that were described as legitimate "pharmaceutical products."

Customs warned the bogus pills could have caused a risk to the public.

"We devote substantial resources - CBP officers and Import Specialists to identify cargo shipments, intercept, seize merchandise and penalize those who violate our intellectual property rights laws," said Customs and Border Protection Port Director Roland Suliveras.
