Car wash owner, correctional officer shot, killed in Miami Gardens over weekend

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. ā€“ A pastor in Miami Gardens organized a meeting Wednesday with other community leaders regarding recent violence in the city.

Rev. Eric Readon, Sr., of New Beginnings Missionary Baptist Church, several pastors from nearby churches, and Miami Gardens Police officers discussed ways to get guns off the street and to end the 'no snitch' culture regarding crime.

On Sunday, Errold Peart, who owned a car wash in Miami Gardens, when shot and killed when he tried stopping a robbery. The day before, a Miami-Dade County correctional officer was shot and killed outside his home.
