Suspicious item found near business in Coral Springs, police say

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – A suspicious item that was found near a business in Coral Springs Thursday has been recovered and is not a threat, authorities said.

Police said the item was found in the area of 2800 N. University Drive.

Authorities said the area was evacuated as a precaution. Southbound lanes of University Drive were shut down from Northwest 28th Drive to Royal Palm Boulevard during the investigation, but has since reopened.

Police did not immediately say what the item was.
