FHP investigators work to identify driver after car ends up in pond

DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. ā€“ The two men who died when their 2006 Honda Accord ended up in a pond in Deerfield Beach were from Miami and West Palm Beach, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

FHP investigators still didn't know who was driving the car northbound on Interstate 95 when losing control near Hillsborough Boulevard Wednesday. They identified the victim from West Palm Beach asĀ William Travieso, 46. FHP did not release the name of the 39-year-old victim from Miami.

Travieso's brother told The Palm Beach Post that he used to live with his dad in West Palm Beach, but was living with a girlfriend in Broward County.Ā

Fire Rescue personnel took the two men out of the pond and took them to Broward Health North. Doctors pronounced them dead. Divers searched for a third victim, but couldn't find anyone. According to Sgt. Mark G. Wysocky FHP was still investigating the crash.Ā
