LAKE WORTH, Fla. - A man wanted on seven felony warrants was arrested Thursday afternoon in Lake Worth.

Members of the U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Task Force went to a home in the 4600 block of Gulfstream Road about 10:45 a.m. to arrest Ricardo Juan, 22, on the warrants.

Authorities said a member of the task force fired once after feeling threatened by something Juan did, and then Juan barricaded himself in the home.

A SWAT team was called and the road was shut down, but before the SWAT team arrived, Juan surrendered, authorities said.

Juan was arrested on the warrants for charges including grand theft, grand theft of a motor vehicle, fleeing or attempting to elude a marked police car and trafficking in cocaine.

He will face a new charge of burglary, as well.

A woman who authorities said battered a law enforcement officer while trying to help Juan faces a charge of battery on a law enforcement officer. A man who attempted to enter the perimeter after Juan was arrested faces a charge of obstruction of justice, authorities said.
