PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – Gun sales in the state of Florida during December are up compared to last year, and have set records nearly every day since the elementary school shooting in Newtown, Conn.
The day after the shooting, 6,945 guns were sold compared to 2,645 on the same day in 2011.

The shooting has caused debate throughout the country about gun control. The National Rifle Association (NRA) held a news conference Friday about the shooting.
