DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. – A 34-year-old-man was taken to a hospital after being nearly struck by lightning in Deerfield Beach.
The incident occurred at 198 Lock Road.
According to Broward Sheriff's Office spokesman Mike Jachles, the victim was sitting on a railing when lightning struck nearby. He was then thrown to the pavement.
To remove him from the rain after he fell, fellow workers carried him into a shipping container.
He suffered burns but was conscious and breathing.
