Man dies after shooting outside Miami-Dade barbershop

Police are searching for suspects in Norberto "Berto" Eason's death

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A man shot outside a northwest Miami-Dade barbershop Monday has died, his family said.

Family members identified him as 31-year-old Norberto "Berto" Eason.

“It feels like it’s not real, I don't think it’s real. I don't know what’s going on." Francina Eason, his mother, said Tuesday.

Francina Eason was so grief-stricken Tuesday that she collapsed into the arms of relatives as she talked about her son's death to Local 10's Derek Shore.

Police said Norberto Eason was shot in the chest about 4 p.m. Monday outside the Central Barbershop on Northwest 17th Avenue near 91st Street. He was rushed to Ryder Trauma Center, where he later died.

Miami-Dade Police have released few details about the case. Police are asking for the public's help to find the person who killed Norberto Eason. Detectives returned to the shopping plaza Tuesday to speak to neighbors in the area.

"Can somebody please help me. Find the person that took my son's life because he was a wonderful man," Francina Eason said. "I don't understand what happened.  I just can't put my finger on what could have happened like that."
